The Courtyard

The aim of this project for the city center is essential because it is an important benchmark for the main axis and the tram line

The site associated Allende is located at the western entrance of the city center, at the intersection of "rue du President Salvador Allende" and "rue Maingoval" and close to the main departmental road and the tramway.

The site is located at the intersection of three poles constituting the center of Denain: the commercial center, the mixed urban center and the Emile Zola park. It is part of the renewal policy of the city center

that emphasizes a mix of functions of built program. It has as function to clear the existing gap between it and the northern district.

The project maintains the desired density and a function of signal blocks rising in the periphery of the site to free private or shared landscapes within a block, and it reinterprets the existing urban fabric.

The opposite angles of the site that are also angles of arrival of the tramway in the city are treated as extrusions signal volumes, uprisings of the enclosure that generate opportunities across the block.

The basis of free collective plots, for the recess angles, squares, places of life and conviviality for the residents.
