#RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS

The TETRIS

This project reflects the desire of the client to honor an architect-designedhouse that has been hidden on the garden side by an extension of questionable quality, in giving it a third phase expansion to accommodate the two sleeping rooms of his children

Result of technical constraints (desire for a minimal footprint in favor of a generous garden) and program (wish for a room on the ground floor in preparation for old age and a private outdoor space), this extension project moved toward a building in the ground floor and an elevation of the existing buildings.

It takes the shape of a volume "Tetris", formal outcome of the constraints of templates and drop imposed by the Municipality regulations. It hosts a ground floor room and a bedroom upstairs, all connected by volume, comprising areas of the bathrooms, dressing rooms and vertical circulation.

The project was completed in timber frame and its facade covered in "Eternit pictura". This construction is underway labeling BBC (a French ecological label). The site was organized such as not to alter the topography and a special attention was paid to the preservation of all the existing trees on the site.
