anarchitect completes dynamic uenergy bliss health club in beirut
‘uenergy’ has grown in strength and acclaim since its establishment in dubai in 2011.
hailed for their dynamic exercises and motivational influences, they have entered a different realm of fitness. to address their growing business, the company commissioned dubai-based firm anarchitect — designer of the ‘uenergy’s’ debut facility — to create a secondary space; this time in lebanon.
‘uenergy bliss’ is located on beirut’s famous bliss street, opposite the american university of beirut. the program focuses on the essence of healthy living, and amplifies social interaction between staff members and gym-goers. unlike ‘uenergy’s’ multi-level dubai location, ‘uenergy bliss’ is carefully planned across a single level of 750m2. extensive research was conducted before organization of space, with focus on gym-goer routines, including how and where they enter the building, change, training, socialize, and exit.
natural light penetrates deep into the space, and the floor plans long views allow for constant, playful interaction between occupants. its openness enhances team culture — one of ‘unenergy’s’ biggest focuses — and promotes a healthily competitive culture.
