sono architects sets monochromatic, gabled volumes in rural slovenia
situated in the uninterrupted slovenian landscape, sono architects has designed a large, family home with monochromatic cladding and a gabled roof.
formed as three elongated volumes, the spaces within have been organized, designed and naturally lit to provide the family with an enjoyable living to coincide with their day-to-day lifestyle.
the uniform façade and roof have been clad in varying materials to giving the building a texture, while timber paneling and fiber-cement panels have been used to highlight the black and white contrasting shade. as well as being set in a rural, countryside landscape, the distinctive form and cladding of the residence adds to the dwelling’s fairytale-like quality.
the programmatic arrangement inside has been spread across the three adjoining gabled structures. with a large, living space at its core, the whole ground level is open-plan and naturally lit. plenty of glazed openings overlook the surrounding meadows and woodland, with the spacious bedrooms located on the top floor.
