rgastudio captures the spirit of erba brusca restaurant in milan

located in milan, erba brusca is a restaurant designed by rgastudio that seeks to represent in its aesthetics the same spirit and philosophy that has been applied to the food

the use of natural materials, attention to detail and taking the colors present in the garden. at the entrance you can find a bicycle available to all the clients for riding, ready to take a trip around the neighborhood.

the project’s main feature is its large vegetable garden that runs along an irrigation channel on the sunniest side of the outdoor area, defining its perimeter with patches of aromatic plants. the vegetable garden, far from being merely ornamental, has the dual purpose of giving the setting its all-around, multi-sensory appeal – by pleasing the nose as well as the eye – and at the same time providing the kitchen with fresh and locally grown ingredients. thin wooden structures can be found in the garden serving vines and roses.

the restaurant is composed of two indoor rooms and two verandas – the smaller one shaded by tall bamboo sticks; the larger one overlooking the vegetable garden. as far as the interior design is concerned, a large larch wood shelving unit, designed to resemble vegetable crates, stands out in the first room. the lights are made of colourful cables attached to well pulleys and old wine jugs and the bar and wainscoting are made of zinc-coated iron. as for the color scheme, green is used as the primary color to follow the natural color of the orchard, contrasted with red to make the other elements stand out.
