Singapore’s Marina One green-infused residential building will feature lush cloud forests

A massive new series of residential towers in Singapore will infuse lush greenery on every floor, appearing as a plant-covered mountain from afar.

Known as Marina One and designed by Ingehoven Architects and A61, the green-filled urban residence will be turned into an oasis by landscape firm Gustafson Porter. The proposed project would bring four residential towers surrounding an atrium along with extensive gardens, green walls and waterfalls, as well as rooftop Cloud Forests to Singapore’s Marina Bay.

The proposed development got a green infusion thanks to Gustafon Porter’s plans, which were just revealed to the Singapore planning council. If constructed, the lush atrium would become the largest green urban sanctuary in the quickly developing central business district of Singapore. Appropriately called the “Green Heart,” the green atrium would add an escape and tranquility for Marina Bay’s residents, as well as natural fresh air with the presence of so many cleansing plants.

The designers behind Marina Bay have created not only an urban living solution, but also an inspirational standard for combining plant life and climate relief with architecture in Singapore. In the hot and humid tropical climate, the presence of this urban escape could make residents and visitors more comfortable in urban outdoor spaces. The protected interior atrium space would be lined with sky terraces that weave between undulating balconies, waterfalls and hanging plants. Fresh air passes through all four structures with unique louvered walls, while plant life provides shade from the sun. The ground floor meets a reflecting pond, while the roof is lined with elevated gardens with city views.

Adjacent from Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay would be a major asset to the newly reclaimed land along the Singapore waterfront.
