SQUISH STUDIO + TOWER STUDIO

So often, sustainable project credentials read like a LEED checklist and leave us feeling a bit robotic. Not the Squish + Tower Studios by Saunders Architecture.

Located on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, the heart of these projects beats for artists and preserves local tradition. Designed for a local initiative to rejuvenate island life through culture and self-sustaining practices, these studios welcome artists to geometric structures with awe provoking views of the ocean. Aside from the ingenuity of seamlessly integrating a contemporary piece of architecture into the natural landscape, the structure incorporates equally ingenious sustainable technologies such as waste treating facilities and stand-alone solar panels.
