A Spanish apartment renovation in the center of Barcelona
Located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona, Roc Cube by nook architects is vaguely reminiscent of another beautifully tiled Barcelona abode. The architects removed certain partitions but kept the original tile, giving a nod to the apartment’s original layout. By removing some of the original walls, the architects were able to capitalize on precious space and light. The resulting layout is a combined bathroom and bedroom that faces the inner courtyard and a kitchen and living room facing the street. Modular elements were incorporated into the kitchen and bathroom to create privacy when needed without creating a permanent visual barrier.
