‘hangop’, the name of a café designed by overtreders W, translates to ‘hang up’ and at the same time, is a dessert originating from the netherlands. the name is the concept, and this has been applied to the pared back interior which in turn, has provided a neutral background for the installation of an overhead rail that visually connects the two rooms of the café together.
with a low budget, overtreders W upcycled the furniture seen within the eatery. the second hand tables and chairs, the walls, floor, bar and stage were all painted in a vibrant orange by volunteers from the local arts center. an upper platform provides an alternative and more casual seating option. painted in orange, the criss-crossing rail system adds a playful and vibr...
