joseph eichler, founder of eichler homes, was responsible for the construction of over 11,000 homes throughout california between 1950 and his death in 1974.
one of the most prolific real estate developers in post-war america, he called upon architects of equal stature to complete home designs, at times employing the likes of: frank lloyd wright, robert anshen, claude oakland & associates, jones & emmons, a. quincy jones, and raphael soriano.
